Marine@UGent and the Doctoral Schools of Ghent University are organising the 5th edition of the Blue Science and Technology Summer Training (Blue S&T). The training will take place at Ostend Science Park, from 30th August till 10th September.
With ever-increasing pressures on the marine environment, sustainable growth and management of resources is becoming crucial, yet remain challenging. Collaboration is required on a multidisciplinary level, transcending the boundaries between fundamental science and industry. Maritime industries ranging from fishing, offshore energy, shipping, to tourism are all important stakeholders and have to be considered before making any decisions. At the same time, knowledge from marine scientists, engineers and technicians has to be applied to ensure sustainability.
